About the Author(s)
William E. Wallace received his Ph.D. from Columbia University in New York and is currently an Associate Professor of Art History at Washington University in St. Louis. A former fellow at Harvard University's Center for Italian Renaissance Studies at Villa I Tatti in Florence (1990-91), he has published extensively on Michelangelo and his contemporaries. His works include
Michelangelo at San Lorenzo: The Genius as Entrepreneur (1994).
